Why I crave happy…

I graduated from Emory University with a degree in Psychology and Human Health in May 2017. I grew up in Nashville, TN with two incredible, loving parents and three older siblings who made me who I am today. I have always had an interest in health; my dad is a doctor, my mom is a nurse, and health and illness have always been a part of our dinner time discussions.

My definition of health has changed drastically over time. Health is not a look, a momentary feeling, or a lack of disease. Health is a lifestyle that begins with nourishment of the body and soul. Health is different for everyone, but with a little love, support, and accurate information, we can all take steps towards healthier lives.

In Summer of 2017, I moved to the Bay Area to work for a health tech start up! Moving cross-country alone has given me some amazing challenges and taught me lessons on connection, friendship, and balance.

In the Fall of 2019, I returned to the Southeast to pursue my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Louisville. My research interests include examining the pathways that connect socioeconomic status with health outcomes, the psychoneuroimmunology of chronic stress, and positive interventions.

In my free time I enjoy journaling, working out, cooking, fostering cats from the Kentucky Humane Society, and hiking.
